making buff tuff settings per AC or per axis or allied
or per LW,IJN/IJA,US,russian etc etc

just wondering

or would that take imense coding that you guys don;t have the resources for ?

Yea. I saw this (comment)suggestion on the S3 forum and agree it should be AC based.

Good question, Stlrai

At the moment its class based and you can only differentiate between bomber and not-bomber. Yah, would take a fair bit of code to change that.

Hi,

There is only "bool isFighter ()" in this class ?
Isn't it easy to add some more methods ?

int GetPlaneType();
int GetBuffTuffOfPlaneType ();

So somewhere already has to be array which consists of plane name, plane type, plane code and so on :)

I don't think it is super hard task to implement :) though I am not C++ guru :veg:

Much depends how much you have to change in server code and client code ...

Just thoughts - time to go to sleep now ...

Can bufftuff be removed from the single engine dive bombers? (SBD's, Ju87's etc)

Ridiculous when an SBD or other is as tough as a B24.

well what I was getting at is from past Pacific S3s and present
it is very difficult to help the IJN/IJA Zippo lighter paper planes
without making the USN bombers titanium

try to help a Val or Kate with buff tuff made the SBD a battle wagon in FACS S3 a while back

FYI, single engine bombers aren't "as tough" as 4 engine bombers when bufftuff is on. The amount of damage required to bring them down is multiplied by the same number, but the base number for damage needed doesn't START at the same size. Each bomber (or fighter for that matter) has individually set amounts of damage for each part on each plane. They are NOT all the same. Especiall w/ regard to single vs. 4 engine bombers, like SBD vs. B17.

Last night, I put all my cannon into an SBD at about D2 so I know I had a high percentage of hits and didn't even smoke his engine.

Saw a lot of SBD's dogfighting and in wwii, this toughness has been increased as one of the new settings.

as for buf tuf being tunred up or down, yets its hard to shoot down anybuff. we have a he111 that, in early war, is hard to bring down in any plane.. yes the sbd is listed as a buff, yes we dogfight in them... if i come up on a ju87 and im in a spit, you think he is gonn alet me have an easy kill?.... as i wont let a 109 have an easy kill.. ill dogfight with a sbd early war any day, or whenever part of the war i get caught in one.....

hey york,

I have no problem with an SBD dogfighting to defend itself. I am talking about rolling SBD's from a capped field to take advantage of its enhanced defensive value. IMO NO single engine dive bombers should be classified as buffs.
