Who is the primary contact in regards to the PDC skins? One of the 352nd Virtuals (Kraken) has put together a skin with Punchy Powell's noseart on it. Punchy has provided a lot of feedback on it and I'd like to assist our artist on making any changes needed to get it approved for online usage.
I credit Punchy for giving this game meaning to me with his endless generosity of his time sharing information with myself and other virtuals. I think it would be a great honor to get his skin in-game and I'd like to know what we need to do to take it to the next step.
Here are some screenshots of what he's done so far:

Here is the original:

Punchy crash landed it at Bodney and the center of the plane burned out. The above panel was saved from the wreckage, and his crew chief hid it in the bottom of his footlocker.

Todzilla,
I can present it to the troops for Punchy and Kraken.
Tell Kraken to mail me tniiranen at netscape dot net.
I've got other "business" to talk with Kraken too so that would be convenient ;)
Cheers,
Kossu

That's very nice, Tod.
I too would like to have that for my early ponys.
Great work, fellas.

Wow, Todd, keep posting pictures please! <S>
Now that I'm seeing the tail a little better, I'm going to have to reduce the size of the serial numbers on my model as they're a bit big right now.
On a related note:
Hey Kossu-, any chance of you replying to my e-mail??

I too like rivets. But, MICRO-rivets! WOW! That's awesome detail on that plane.
Any chance of uploading the cockpit view so's we can see the pilot?
If your PDC file is not available soon, can I have the TGA files?
You might say I'm a collector of the "fine stuff".
Hope I'm not butting in where I fear to tread. I'd be glad to make them
available to others from my webspace provider, provided IEN allows that ...

Agghh!
As soon as I have some more free time to finish the remaining minor details, it will be ready for VFCing.
Sometimes I wish there was an extra hour in every day so I could work on skins and still get enough sleep...
When are we going to start populating Mars? :)

Punt. There's an S3 going on with 51B's and would love to use this in-game.

Any recent screenshots? Has Kraken done any more work on it? or has this just been sitting around for a year?
I say, let's submit it!
What's needed?
Put final screens here
(include one fit for the small poster view at PDC site)
(and one for the tiny thumbnail view " " " )
PDC makes comments and then votes Yes or No (most likely it's in)
Get the 2 TGA files to me
Get a short description text file to me
I'll VFC it over the weekend and put them in the "READY" inbox

What's holding this up? I understand that the 51B model is a...er..."difficult" to skin. With all the obvious work that has gone into this one it'd be nice to see it up in the PDC skinds downloading section.
Perhaps the requirements of what is needed from a skin needs to be reviewed, seems to take an awful lot and given the diminishing community of guys who can skin, and who're still flying wb... I'm not saying that neon orange 190s should be approved or anything, but as long as a skin is relatively close to some semblance of a real example of a model then why not approve it? This would open the door to people having personalized a/c flyable online which might intice new guys who know how to start skinning knowing that their work won't sit around for years. Just my opinion though.
<S>
[edit] love the flames coming out of the exhaust on what I hope is startup ;)

Hi Badair!
Kraken's Bluenoser will go through as soon as HE is happy with it and sends the final version over to me.
Been waiting for this for a looong time too.
The last time i met Ken during the Meeting of Mustangs and Legends a few months back I asked about this project, and his answer was a bit vague...
So, go pester Kraken :p :D

K

It's a shame ...
This P-51b has been a long time coming ...
and then there's Kidcan's Eagle Squadron Hurricane that's also of excellent quality ...
Don't be shy guys, your work is definately up to par!
Get a squadron of blue-nosers, mix in some
red-tails and camo Hurricanes against a gaggle
of yellow-nose bastards ... and mix well!

That sounds like a recipe for fun, Art.
<S> Fellas.
P.S. Tod - I swipped that pic of Princess Elizabeth in flight. Added it to my collection. Very nice!!!

Ah, I was under the impression that it had been finished for some time and had been going through some crazy PDC approval process for a year ;) If the man's not done with it, he's not done with it and that's not a problem at all, thanks for your hard work Krakken and I can't wait to see this skin tearing apart the luftdweebs in dweebshmitt's and dweebwolfe's ;)

Finished?
Crazy PDC approval process?
No, Badair, we just like being strung along year after year after year. Who's next in line to bump this thread? No, don't do it yet, wait a few months, then respond.
Art:rolleyes:

Thanks for all the help and motivation, guys. <S>
When you think about it, it didn't really take that long to
finish... just a day shy of two weeks by my count! :D :D
Hmm, maybe our dear Princess Elizabeth should be next?
