How much of a rewrite would it take to make online skins happen that are squadron specific? For example, the 352nd are the only ones that would be flying bluenose 51's, the 31st the only one with candy stripes, JG2 & JG51 having their historically acurate squadron skins, etc.
It doesn't seem like it would be that major of a rewrite. Player names are already tracked for both friend & foe. We already have the ability to highlight an entire squadron with the .HLS command. And we're currently able to change skins on a per plane basis already.
How much of a rewrite would it take to at least have the .HLS command select a different skin for your group, and better yet allow each group to reserve their historically accurate skin where they would be the only ones displaying them in-game?
Seems like the majority of code is already there and I don't see it requiring any additional data being transmitted. I think it would be an easy way to do a lot to energize group enthusiasm and breath some new life into the game.
