Heyas Gentlemen,

Over the years I've modified the in-game maps to my liking, and while this works well with the .tga maps, the .dds files give me fits.

Working via OSX in Photoshop, I create .psd files and then convert them on my PC running XP. When replaced in-game, I see fields and grids, but nothing but a white field when it comes to map graphics.

To get around this, I sent the .psd file to York to convert. He did, and it worked for him in-game. But not for me on the Mac side.

Is there a switch to flip in regard to Mac .dds in-game maps? What conversion settings should I use to make it work both on Mac and Windows machines?

Troy

I use the same approach you do, but on a PC. Some have reported problems if their texture resolutions are set too low. I doubt that's your problem, though. <scratches head> I don't have any experience with MACs.

Thanks Muzz...

I create them in Photoshop, resolution set to 300, and 1024x I believe. The odd this is that Yorkie can convert it and see it in game, but I can't. (Yorkie = PC, Troy = Mac)

Some one wake Helix up... punch him if you have to... :D

Thanks again Muzz.

When you create the .dds files, are you creating the mip maps as well?
DXT1 RGB (no alpha) 8 bits per channel?

When you same then reopen the file, does it look ok, or is it only in WBs where it washes out?

Working on the technical stuff now, thanks... but to answer a question that I can actually answer:

It only goes white inside of Warbirds. Pure white. Otherwise, it's purdy.

:) Thanks Muzz.

Muzz,

This is the .psd that I gave Yorkie to convert if that helps you to understand where I screwed up. ;)
