View Full Version : Skin ready for PDC
Iart7 has been kind enough to help me finish VF-10's F6F-5. So how do we get it presented properly and hopefully put into the game?
I'm hopeful that the PDC will help VF-101 (which is the squadron that VF-10 became after WWII) and WB's VF-101 which has been around since the very early days of WB's in getting this skin into the game.
Once again thanks to iart7 who spent a lot of time fixing my mistakes and cleaning it up.

Looks great, how about a closeup of the noseart? Looking forward to seeing this and others (hint, hint) in the game soon!

Are the gun barrels supposed to be blue?
Looks great except for that!

when i sprayed the blue Krylon on the plane, I forgot to cover up the guns. therefore, blue guns.
this a.m. i pulled out the guns and sprayed them black, heated them up on the BBQ charcoals
till toasted dark gray. put them back in plane. See:

Pretty cool, nice taste in colors. Are those Jugs historically accurate? I've never seen that color scheme before.
You're probably already seen them, but here are some links I found. Was he in the 397th, which has a squad ID of D3?

Sweet!
Looks like he was in the 397th? Thanks for sharing. <S>
Todzilla, yes he was and yes I've checked those sights. From emails with him I tried to recreate the aircraft he flew. According to him most of the planes never got a complete paint job due to the high attrition rate. He remembers this tail number and wing assignment number because he had to bail from the plane (after 20mm damage).
Thanks for the picture at the bottom, it actually clears up some confusion I've had with my Uncle regarding a few things. I'll have to look at it closer and try to incorperate it into my skin. Might have to do a major rework, but that's half the fun of skinning.
