Went to fly today and the radio buffer would not come up by using the slash key. Went to input buffer to check if it was correct and then tried changing it to another key......still could not bring up the radio buffer. Changed it back to the slash key and still wouldn't come up.

Tried using the updater and after updating sill no radio buffer. Deleted the settings file thinking I could run the updater and start with a fresh settings file.........no updater button. Went to IEN's WB page and downloaded WB's and it appeared to install over the old files. Settings file was incomplete........no control04 or 08 file, no flight files. But the radio buffer worked.

Check with another player and his control08 file looks exactly like mine for the radio buffer. Replaced the missing files from the old settings folder and of course NO radio buffer.

Anyone have any ideas besides deleting everything from IEN and starting from scratch? It appears I'll not be flying in the S3 tomorrow since I can't get into the arena.

Look VERY carefully at your screen. It IS possible, using the [CNTRL] key and the mouse to MOVE the keyboard entry box (assuming you don't mean the radio buffer which is seperate). If you did, by accident, it might be "nearly" off the screen somewhere.

Also, if you ARE talking about the radio buffer, try going into settings and colors and turning the transparancy back up. Thought I doubt that's your problem as text will still show up solid, even in a 100% transparent radio buffer.

Yes Matt it's the radio buffer that is missing. I tried your suggestions and still can't get the radio buffer to come up.

The problem is in the settings folder, however I can't figure out where the problem lies.

Also, I found this morning that the same thing occurs when I bring up the beta version. Since they are in completely different folders I thought it should work.

I hate to do it, but I guess the only option is to delete everything related to IEN and start over with a fresh install.

Matt, this may or may not be related, but since the latest update I have had WB's loose my stick, throttle and rudders. It usually happens after I've been on for an hour or so. Once I fix the problem, in game, it works fine for a few days.

There is a new command for making the radio buffer "vanish" and "reappear"... I'll look into it and figure out what the command is. You might be doing it by accident.

Thanks Matt, I got frustrated and deleted everything on my computer related to WB's and did a new instal. All appears to be working OK, but I need to reprogram everything again for me. This could take a while, but hopefully I'll get it done before the S3.

Hmm.. shouldn't be a button combination. Only way I've got to get rid of radio buffer entirely is .hideradiomessages or .showradiomessages <--set to 0.
