Frame Rates

Tim, I'm wondering if there is something different with the Main Arena settings that are effecting my frame rates? All the other arenas I get between 70-120 fps, however in the Main it drops to 25-35 fps (and obviously over a town that is smoking it drops into the single digits). I realize that my video card is getting long in the tooth, but I can repeat the above fps over and over again. It would seem to me that one arena should be the same as the others. Also, I have noticed that occassionally I get better frame rates in the Main, but usually not as good as the other arenas. Could this particular map, that is in use now, is causing the problem? Flying in the last S3 with lots of planes around, ack, smoke, torps, etc I never noticed my frame rates falling like they do in Main.

There has always been something 'wanky' with that first ETO map that is currently in the Main. From the very start I have always gotten less FPS in it. Lately I have been toggling off the roads and that seems to help (.toggleroads)

go down close to the bottom and see what it says about SMOKE! I wish the guy would answer about where the smoke file can be found, or send it to me.

The smoke adds to an decrease in FPS, but the terrain as a whole has a pull on FPS. I usually have to run my phenix_reduced effects when in this ETO one, others I don't.
