Mission Planner 1.7.1 26th August 2003.
Installation:
Unzip the contents of this file into a folder of your choice.
Run the exe.
New for version 1.7.1
New ETO and the PTO terrain are now supported (ETO
maps by 'Muzz' and 'Phenix'). PTO map is not up to the same standard as
the other terrain maps as I have not seen any released thus far.. so you
will have to make do with the screen grab I made using the in game map (until
someone makes a nice PTO map or points me to one :) ).
For the larger maps you can navigate around either
by using the scrollbars on the plotting map or clicking on the smaller nav
map.
The 'Details' tab is used to select the waypoint type,
leg speed and altitude.
The 'Overlay' tab is used to select the radar overlay
options. The radar overlay is not available yet for the PTO and the new
ETO - sorry.
Output jpg of the route is now a copy of the inflight
map tga. You can take the output jpg and convert it to a TGA in your favourite
graphics app, then copy it into the WB3 folder (you will have to rename
it appropriately, so take a backup of your inflight map tga's before doing
this). The result is that the mission route will show on your inflight
map.
The text output of the flight log is unchanged.
You can no longer delete the last waypoint. This
caused "floating point" errors.
This and any future versions of Mission Planner are
dedicated to the memory of my brother Neil who died tragically at Duxford
last month. He was also a Warbirds player who went by the callsign of 'seadog'.
I will always miss him. You will find a picture of Neil included in the
program (Options -> Dedication).
Feedback is always appreciated. Please send comments
and suggestions to paulrix@leapmail.net
Thanks

Mission Planner 1.6 28th June 2002.
New For version 1.6:
1. IAS/TAS conversion. The speed you enter is now
Indicated Airspeed. True Airspeed is then calculated from the IAS and the
altitude. Time calculations are then processed using TAS.
2. I have worked at making the waypoint details box
a little more user friendly. The Speed and Alt values last selected should
now be automatically used for the next new waypoint added to the plan.
3. The output jpg file now has clearer waypoint numbering.

Mission Planner 1.5.1 21st June 2002.
Included Jabo's S3 map of Tunisia for the forthcoming
event "One More Hill".

Mission Planner 1.5. 13th June 2002.
New for version 1.5:
Metric conversion. Use the radio button on the Map
page to select either Imperial (English) or Metric units. You can select
this at any time.
Not much this time but I figured the metric conversion
was going to be worth releasing a new version anyway.

Mission Planner 1.4. 29th May 2002.
New for version 1.4:
1. Radar coverage overlay for each of the maps. If
you have radars selected, they will also be shown on the missionroute.jpg.
You can alter the range setting for the radar too (one setting for all).
2. There is now a more in depth mission flight plan,
with total distance traveled from takeoff and elapsed time since take off
for each waypoint. You can also enter your own notes for each waypoint.
There have also been a number of small bug fixes.

Mission Planner 1.3. 21 May 2002.
Installation:
Unzip the contents of this file into a folder of your
choice.
Run the exe.
Operating instructions:
First thing to do is select the terrain for your mission.
Europe is the default, but if you want
to change to Malta or Tunisia you can do so from the options menu. You
can access this at the top left of the screen.
The second thing to decide is the scale of teh terrain
for your mission. You can choose 128 x 128 or the new 256 x 256.
You can now start to plot your route by clicking on
the map. If you incorrectly place a waypoint you can alter it's position
by ensuring it is selected (it's symbol is green) and then right clicking
on the desired location.
As you start adding points the flight plan will start
to build in the form to the right of the map. Every time you add , delete
or move a waypoint the plan is updated and recalculated.
When you are happy with the route you can then select
each waypoint to adjust speed, altitude and waypoint type. This will also
update the flightplan and recalculate. IP and Target waypoints will be
represented on the map as squares and triangles respectively.
When you have finished, you can click on the 'Create
JPG and Text File' button.
This will place a textfile dump of the flight plan and a jpg image of the
map, with route overlayed, into the folder where the planner exe resides.
The files are called plan.txt and Missionroute.jpg. These files can then
be printed from their default applications and emailed as attachments to
members of your flight. (I have tried to get the printing operation to
take place from within the Planner program itself, but results were not
so good. I will be continuing to work on that).
All Units are imperial (mph/miles/feet). Time is
in minutes but as decimals (ie 1.5 minutes is 1 minute 30 seconds).
Credits:
I would like to thank the following people for their help and contributions
to this project.
Oscoog: for his superb maps.
Teemu 'Teme' Perheentupa: for his invaluable advice with regard to Delphi
coding.
Scott '=dobs=' Stevenson: For advice on what a real mission planner app
should include,
plus a host of ideas that will be keeping me busy for some time to come!
Thanks guys!
Please let me know how you get on with it.
